Coming Down to the Wire in Turkey Town

Howdy, everybody. Procrastinate no longer! The cut-off for ordering a lovely, pasture-raised Pennsylvania gobble-bird is Friday, November 17th.

The turkeys are raised by Clement Slothour on a secluded poultry resort where the birds are provided every avian comfort. They are awakened each morning by the sounds of Indian classical music (sitar, violin, and tabla), then spend their leisure at the sauna before nibbling a simple breakfast of muesli.

Afternoons are spent grub hunting, gobbling, Appalachian clog dancing, attending poetry recitals and dust bathing.

At dusk, the turkeys meet in the parlor for digestifs, cigars and conversation before retiring for the evening.

This is to say that they live agreeably, as turkeys should, before resting their heads on the executioner's block. All of that good living comes through in the eating: they are remarkably tasty turkeys!

Supplies are limited, so visit the "shop" on our website, or come into Each Peach Market and speak with one of our lovely employees. Turkey orders require a $25 deposit, and are $5.99 per pound. A variety of sizes are available.
