Grow it yourself!


At Each Peach, we like to say that we embrace the DIY foodie experience-- and there is nothing more DIY than growing your own food! Gardening is an activity that brings us closer to our food and gives us a glimpse of what our farmers do to bring us our favorite fresh vegetables. This year, we are thrilled to offer up a fun selection of seeds from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. We have Each Peach favorites such as Tuscan kale, Padron peppers, and Green Zebra tomatoes as well as more unique seed packs for sale (cardoons anyone!).


We’ve organized the seeds roughly into those that can be directly seeded into the ground and those that need to be started indoors. Seeds for cold weather crops (such as peas, spinach, kale, and beets) can be sown right into the garden once the ground is warm enough to be worked. Gardeners that want to grow tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, should get those going inside now because they do not tolerate cold. You don’t need to spend a lot of money on materials to start your seeds indoors. We reuse food containers (ice cream, yogurt, etc). Egg containers work well too, and have a built in ‘green-house’! Once we are past the danger for frost, usually right around May 15, the little guys started inside can be transplanted to the outside. Happy growing!
